Time Tracker

Finding the right time tracker for your projects is surprisingly difficult, as they are often too complex to be worthwhile or just not reliable enough. A simple tool may prove to be the better choice for many users.

Time Tracker is a small, open-source utility that provides you with a remarkably straightforward method of managing your time. It features a rudimentary GUI and stays on top of all other windows while still being unobtrusive.

After the quick installation process, you can launch the application and start managing your projects instantly. The main window will be displayed in the system tray area, but you can move it anywhere else on your desktop.

To begin tracking, simply enter the name of the project and start the timer. You can also write down some notes that you feel would be helpful.

Once the timer has been started, you can keep an eye on its progress at all times, since the application will remain on top of all other windows. The recorded time can also be adjusted manually.

However, it is not possible to switch between multiple projects. You can click “Submit” in order to log the recorded time to a report, but you cannot return to a past project after completing it.

It is clear that this software is still in the early stages of development, as the application seems to lack a bit of polish, as well as some useful features.

Nevertheless, Time Tracker can prove to be helpful in the right hands, provided you aren’t expecting too much from this tiny program. It can make it easier to track time without complicating matters unnecessarily, but it still needs work.
