FileMind

FileMind is a clear-cut and attractive file manager that focuses on speed when it comes to performing common file operations, such as copying or moving them to other locations on the disk.

The software application comes bundled with a few intuitive options that should be easy enough for inexperienced users to figure out.

Setting up FileMind is a swift procedure that doesn't demand too much attention, thanks to the fact that it integrates familiar options.

As for the interface, the app is wrapped in a modern-looking window with a neatly organized structure where, just like in Windows Explorer, you can seamlessly navigate disk directories to find, examine and control files. Speaking of Explorer, the context menu of FileMind is identical to the one of the default file manager.

You can drag files and folders on an upper bar to create shortcuts to them, jump to any drive by clicking on its letter, as well as conduct search operations and narrow down results by specifying filters regarding time (e.g. today, week, month, earlier), file type (e.g. document, folder, link, picture) and extension.

The program didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the machine throughout our tests, thanks to the fact that it required low CPU and memory to function normally. It had a good response time to commands, carried out search operations swiftly, and remained light on the system resources the entire time.

On the other hand, FileMind is currently in beta development stage, so it's a work in progress. This explains why it contains such few features. On the other hand, the last update was a pretty long time ago, and we can only hope the developers haven't given up on this promising project.
