Game Cleaner

GameCleaner is a lightweight utility designed to help you remove unwanted files, cache and other dump data accumulated over time on your Steam platform. Simply put, the program is designed to delete unwanted, old and prefetched cached data that is probably taking up a lot of space in the Steam directories.

Once you install the app, it prompts you to link the path to the Steam directory and after pops up a user-friendly interface where you can specify the clean options. More precisely, the tool can analyze crash dump files, HTTP cache, library cache, statistics cache, Log files, HTML cache, Jscript cache and CPU cache.

It verifies additional files that are known to gather obsolete data, including, but not limited to MDMP, ClOG, log.txt, log, year_.txt, Direct X, DotNet, PhysX and VCRedist. As a small bonus, the application also displays information about your system that includes the type of CPU, memory, video card and operating system. Once you selected the clean options, hit the Scan button and when the results pop up, you can delete the ones that take up space.

The application can come in handy for any gamer who uses Steam regularly to grab games as well as updates for the ones they are currently playing. Generally speaking, video games tend to take up a lot of space on the disks and this can become an issue if you have dozens of games installed or have limited space.

In fact, the developer got the idea for GameCleaner when he experienced this issue and claimed the app freed up around 5GB of data that was collected by Steam over time. Moreover, he found old and obsolete data that just took up space from previous years.
