The multiple game distribution platforms in use nowadays can prove to be difficult to manage. Games are split between several launchers, each with their own friends lists and overlays. Thankfully, there are ways to combine them, such as by adding non-Steam games to the Valve client. If you have a Steam controller, this also makes it easier to manage configurations for individual titles.

bnetlauncher is a relatively simple application that enables you to launch any game in the Battle.net client directly from Steam, without having to enter your account credentials each time. It allows you to use the Steam overlay while playing and create Steam controller profiles for each title.

As you are probably well aware, it is possible to add any game or program to Steam, even those that are not distributed by the platform, and then launch them from the client.

However, adding Battle.net games presents you with an issue: if you add the games directly, you will have to enter your login credentials each time, whereas the Battle.net client would log you in automatically.

You will need to add the application’s executable file, bnetlauncher.exe, as a non-Steam program in the client. Then, add one of the required parameters to the launch options (wow, ow, d3, codbo4, etc.) to indicate the game that should be opened. You can find the complete list of codes on the project’s GitHub page.

Now, when you launch the program from Steam, it will open the Battle.net client and launch the selected game automatically. You won’t need to log in, and you will be able to access the Steam overlay. You can even change the shortcut’s icon in Steam to that of the game in question.

If the Battle.net client is not running when launching a game, it will be shut down once the game is started. It it is already open, it will be left running.

Of all the ways to add Battle.net games to Steam, this program provides you with possibly the most intuitive one. Any user should be able to get things up and running in no time, and it can make it a lot easier to launch games and manage your library.
