tubemp3 is an easy approach to YouTube content download, as well as a free-of-cost solution for those who want to avoid paying for downloading music.

tubemp3 is fully written in Go, it is a tiny app, and, because its only execution is displayed in the command line, it is also compatible with older Windows operating systems.

You can download this application in an exe format or as a portable instrument. However, you should know that setting up the application requires a little bit of adjustment to a JSON configuration file.

tubemp3's developer clearly indicates that you can change the program's defaults by downloading their GitHub config file, or by creating a new one, with the same name (config.json) in the exact directory where your binary tubemp3 is located.

If you choose to download the developer's GitHub JSON file, you should know it defaults to a maximum of five video downloads simultaneously. The scripting traits of the programming language contained in the file make it super easy even for non-tech people to edit the contents of that configuration document.

Also, by default, all the downloaded pieces of content are going to be saved in the same folder where the tubemp3 executable is contained. If you want to change the location where your files are being saved, just move the executable or edit the config.json file by changing DownloadPath parameter (e.g., DownloadPath": "C:/Users/YOUR_USER/Desktop/mp3).

Well, the answer is: really simple. All you must do is initiate the tubemp3 executable (with or without admin privileges), open a new browser window, click the YouTube URL of your choice, and press CTRL + C.

The download process will start in tubemp3's CLI window and, when finalized, the output will let you know that the download is over. The logs of all current and past downloads will be always saved in the log.txt file saved in your tubemp3 directory.
