Employ the use of this lightweight messaging application that is capable of connecting the user to your HF radio mailbox station. #Email manager #Radio email #Ham email #Radio #Email #Manager
Airmail is a vintage-looking application that provides communication using radio technology. Similar to Outlook in a sense, but totally different under the hood, this application lets you send and receive messages through ham radio, Sailmail, and other licensed radio systems.
Interface-wise, the application looks like one of Outlook's first iterations, yet, it can be installed and used on most modern systems like Windows 8, 10, and even Win11.
Airmail claims to support all SCS modems including Kantronics KAM+ and KAM-98, AEA/Timewave PK-232, PK-900, DSP-1232 and 2232, the MFJ 1276 and 1278B, and the HAL DXP-38 Clover/Pactor.
If you are a new user that never had the occasion to deploy such a program, you might want to check the help file, as the app requires a bit of know-how, and it's not that intuitive without proper documentation.
To sum it up, Airmail seems like an interesting alternative to what we've got today as e-communication tools. Despite it being a bit unconventional for the average user, individuals with a bit of knowledge about HF and ham radio can take advantage of this kind of obscure email app.
