Toast for Chrome

A lot of people keep multiple tabs open in their web browsers. While most do it out of absent-mindedness, there are still a few who do it out of necessity. Sometimes, your work or your studies may actually require you to keep tens of tabs open at the same time. In such a situation, you may choose to open another browser window for things that aren’t work related, like music, social media and so on. And this is where things get hectic.

While you have probably learned to manage so many open tabs with questionable efficiency, you may have already learned that few things are as frustrating as losing the precious information contained by those web pages. And while Google Chrome allows you to save your session (by way of batch bookmarking), there’s now an even easier way to do it.

Toast is a simple, lightweight and extremely useful extension. When you click on its icon near the address bar, a small windows drops down. Here you will see a yellow button labeled “Save current”, which, if you click, will allow you to save your session. Give it a cool name like “Best session e<3r” or “Compelling sources for my deeply profound essay” and then click “Save” or “Save and close window”.

The next time you open the add-on, you will see your sessions saved in a neat list, from where you can open them or simply delete them if you’re done with them.

Integrating Toast into your workflow has more benefits than just keeping your workspace tidy; for example, being able to safely close so many tabs at the same time will make your RAM very happy, thus rewarding your computer with an improved performance. It’s probably safe to say that Toast is a truly efficient cure for your tab addiction.
