I bet anyone, at one point in time or another, has needed to access a computer remotely. And when this kind of situation happens, you don't really have time to set up complicated stuff or search for something that could help you on the spot.
Whether it is a computer you have at another location, a workstation from your job that you need to access, or you just simply want to help a relative regarding a tech issue remotely, Aspia, with its features, can come in handy and become a reliable tool for all your needs.
Setting it up might seem a bit difficult at first, but as soon as you figure things out, you will configure your remote connections in no time. You do need to take notice of the fact that there are executables for the control console and the hosts, and both are needed for the connection to work.
When you are creating a remote connection, you are prompted to create a new Address Book first. These will hold multiple groups, which allow you to organize the connected computers. This way, you can have access to more than one desktop, and you can choose if the groups use encryption as well, not just a password.
From the toolbar that appears on the top when you are connected to another PC remotely, you have access to a few different things. In the Session Configuration menu, you will find interesting features such as the ability to choose color depth or the compression ratio used.
From the same toolbar, you can access the File Transfer window with a simple click. There, you can simply move files with drag and drop, or copy and paste, the choice is yours.
Aspia proves to be a solid open-source remote control and file transfer application that can help you work from a distance or easily access files from a computer that's in a different location.
