Garmin Lifetime Updater is a desktop program designed to simplify the process of downloading and installing map updates on devices with lifetime subscriptions. You can add multiple devices and control how updates are handled. Logging in to an account is not required, and it is not necessary to use an external browser to download maps.

The application allows you to specify when updates will be downloaded automatically. You can, for instance, let it download them at any time, overnight or during the weekends. Of course, you can also disable automatic updates altogether.

Alternatively, you can try creating a personalized download schedule if none of the presets are right for you. Just bring up the advanced options and select the exact times when downloads should be allowed and paused.

If you use a proxy to access the Internet, you can either configure it in the application’s connection settings or let it use the same proxy configuration as the system.
