Music players come in many different forms, but functionally, they accomplish much the same task: playing your favorite tunes. As any music player is capable of playing audio files, it comes down to other characteristics to get users to show interest in your product — essentially, what makes your app different.

Aesthetic can also play a role in this, and amp# is quite a doozy in its own way. It's got a distinctly no-nonsense type of aesthetic, with customizable colors and a visualizer to add a bit of flair to the whole experience of jamming to your songs.

Going offline and playing your favorite songs from your local library may not be as popular as it was in the past, but even with music streaming being the norm these days, many users still prefer this approach. A suitable music player is thus a necessity, so what this one offers might be up your alley.

The player is decidedly simple, so navigating through it should pose no problems to anyone. The interface features a functional design, where users can clearly see their track list and albums, as well as search liberally for any song in their library.

The visualizer will appear whenever there's a song playing, and it looks as you would expect. If it bothers you in some way, you're free to turn it off anytime in the Settings menus, under the Audio visualization tab.

As for the settings, they allow for quite a bit of freedom in customizing the program your way. Color settings permits users to freely modify the colors of the elements in the interface: each of the buttons, audio levels, and so on, can be shaded to your liking. It's worth noting that you'll need to restart the program for the changes to take effect.

Some additional customization can be made to how the player behaves. Quiet Hours can be turned on, decreasing the volume to a certain percentage during a timeframe, and users can even modify the shuffling algorithm, present in the Modified random section. Randomization based on a song's rating, play and skip count, and so forth, can be configured.

amp# is a well-made music player, capable of playing your favorite local tunes without any problems. Being able to customize the interface, as well as the shuffling algorithm, are some features that may be of interest to some users.
