Before stereophonic sound was invented sometimes in the 1930s, audio recordings were heard as if they were coming from one position. The single-sourced sound is called monophonic, and, despite all the advancements made with surround sound technology, mono is still around (see, for example, the rising popularity of Bluetooth speakers).

However, certain playback devices aren’t the only things that can be mono; one may also come across certain audio recordings that are monophonic. While this may be pleasing to some nostalgic audiophiles, modern musicians will have trouble sampling or integrating such a recording into their productions.

The interface is simplistic and offers you control over various parameters through a small number of knobs; you can adjust the gain, add some delay to the tracks and even use a high-pass and a low-pass filter.
