It can happen to anyone to be distracted by the incoming online meeting or job interview and forget to check the equipment, only to discover that their mic is not working. Perhaps, you were notified last minute and you simply do not have a microphone.

Either way, the good news is that you do not need to run to the nearest hardware store to get a mic. AndroidMic is a tiny tool that allows you to use your Android phone as a mic.

The interface is minimalistic and user-friendly, so it is unlikely to experience any issues regardless of your tech know-how. As you probably hinted, for this to work you need to make sure that the PC and Android smartphone are paired once. To create the new connection, you have to install the Virtual Audio Cable or VB-Audio on Windows. Lastly, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.

Before you can get started, you need to install the Windows app, which acts as a server. Afterwards you have to click on the Connect button to enable the microphone and select the appropriate audio speaker from the drop down list located in the left side of the interface. Simply select the corresponding jack created and you are set to go. On the right side of the interface, you can preview a window that displays information about the Bluetooth of both devices and whether or not the service has started.

The tool can come in handy in a variety of situations, both leisure and work related. Irrespective of whether your mic just broke down, needs new cables for it or have a headset whose jack cannot be detected by Windows, AndroidMic enables you to use your Android phone as microphone.
