Your preferred audio player can keep a list of songs you always want to listen to in a playlist, which is kept together as a file. It can come under several formats, and represents paths to target songs, so the player knows what to let you hear. If you simply want to edit, or create such playlists, m3uEdit can help you out.

After a quick, and uneventful setup process, you’re free to check out the application’s set of features. Needless to say that the application can read, and manipulate M3U files, but you don’t really need one to make the application work, or even put it to good use for that matter.

Chances are you get to create, or edit playlists frequently, in which case the application comes with an option to integrate itself in the system context menu, so you can open M3U files directly in the editor, from any location. You can only work with M3U files, even though there are more types of playlist files out there. Luckily, most multimedia players support this format.

The application lets you work on multiple projects at a time, keeping all of them in separate windows, which can be arranged to your liking. For more customization options, there’s the possibility to change the font style, size, effect, and color. However, this is only for a neat working environment, because this has no effect whatsoever on the final M3U file.

If you happen to already have a list of files with paths in a text editor, lines can simply be copied inside the editor. Another method to add more items is by dragging them over the main window. There’s also the possibility to have them arranged in a custom order, or trimmed by having the path, or drive removed from the name.
