A tiny utility that relies on AutoHotKey and that provides a simple and straightforward way to take screenshots via your mouse and keyboard. #Take screenshot #Capture snapshot #Screenshot via keyboard #Screenshot #AutoHotKey #Keyboard
If you are using AutoHotKey to automate most of the things you do on the computer, then perhaps you would consider using Keyboard Screenshot. As the name suggests, the role of the utility is to enable you to select a region of your screen using the keyboard and mouse and take the screenshot. Take note that the tool does not display the snapshot right away, but instead it copies it to your clipboard.
According to the developer, there are several steps you should take before creating the actual screenshot. After you launch the tool using Alt+Shift+Q key combination, you need to move the cursor via the arrow keys to the start and end positions and press the Space key after each. In case the speed of the scroll is a little too fast and you want to decrease the speed, then it is recommended you hold down the Shift key while doing the selection.
The advantage of using this tool is that you can complete screenshot tasks considerably faster, especially if you are already used to the ins and outs of AutoHotKey. In fact, the developer suggests you use the KeyboardScreenshot.ahk if you have the tool already on your PC. In case you don’t, you can still use the executable.
