Adobe DNG Codec

Adobe DNG Codec is a solution that Adobe has developed for Windows users which enables them to view DNG raw files in Explorer without the need of third party applications.

The DNG raw format provides you and others with the means to create photo archives in order to store images with all their details. The format is capable of memorizing all specific and detailed information about the camera model, manufacturer and settings details.

It’s a codec that instalsl at operating system level and allows you to open a DNG image file as you would normally do with the commonly known and used JPEG. Double click it and it’s there in front of you.

To be able to put it into effect, all you have to do is install the codec on your computer. The installation process takes a couple of seconds and after it is complete, it only requires a system restart. Once that is done, you will be able to see previews for DNG raw files when you browse folders in thumbnail view mode.

Installing the codec only grants you the possibility to open the DNG files but the pace at which your computer is able to open and work with them solely relies on its hardware configuration.

NOTE: This codec is not compatible with the Windows Vista 64-bit platform
