Have you ever wished for an application that could help you decipher the barcode on a certain product that you only have in scanned or digital form?

If the answer to this rather strange question was yes, then bcTester should be of interest to you. With this application, one can extract relevant information from many types of barcodes that were scanned or are simply saved in digital format on your machine.

Now, while the app might be of great use, the interface does seem rather old. It stands out as too simple when in use on modern OS iterations. Still, since you won't use it all the time, it won't matter as much.

On the other hand, in terms of modern features, the app supports drag and drop, aside, of course, from the classical import option. Your added files can be in various formats, ranging from JPG to TIF, BMP, and even PDF. PNG is also supported.

The application will also recognize QRCodes and Aztec-type codes, aside from your usual barcodes. You can very easily copy the information you extract to your Windows clipboard for use and integration with any other project you might have under development.

In the program's settings, you can play with values that deal with the size of the scanned barcodes, the rotation angle at which these might be situated when your image file is imported. For heavily skewed codes, there is a more powerful search feature, although the app does warn that you might not get quick results when choosing it.
