Monochrome2DNG

Most cameras available for purchase are color cameras, which differ from a black and white camera through the color filters that are applied to their sensor. Color cameras can be converted into a monochrome camera by removing the color filter array but, without a modification in the camera's firmware, the resulting photos might experience quality loss.

Designed specifically to process digital photos created with a camera that has been converted to monochrome format, Monochrome2DNG provides a simple means of converting RAW images to DNG format without compromising on quality. It is compatible with various RAW data files, including ARW, CR2, NEF, PEF, DNG, and RAF.

The application is specifically designed for use with photos taken with a camera with no color filter array, featuring a reliable recognition engine to only process pictures from converted cameras.

Thanks to the wizard-based approach, Monochrome2DNG is very easy to use. The first step is to select the location of the images to process. To narrow down the search, you can also set the camera model or its serial number as a filter.

Monochrome2DNG can skip the files that are not monochrome and optionally apply a demosaic algorithm to maintain the output quality. Additional settings related to compression and the data format are available in the "Preferences" window.

The location of the output is customizable. Monochrome2DNG enables you to decide how duplicates should be handled. As a bonus, the output files can be renamed in batch using a pattern of your choice.
