For example, Trello Desktop is an unofficial, Electron-based Trello client that acts a wrapper for the official web app and brings all its functionality right onto your computer's desktop.

Getting started with this app can be dealt with in practically no time as it does not require installation on your part. You only need to unzip the package and run it via its executable file.

Evidently, once you launch the utility, you are required to sing in using your official Trello credentials. Once logged in, you are met by the exact same interface of the web app, only, this time, fitted within a distraction-free main window.

If you have ever worked with Trello via a web browser, then it should be business as usual, as there are no functionality changes. You can still create boards, cards and to-do lists and share them with others in real-time just as easily.

To conclude, Trello Desktop is a useful piece of software that provides you with a more straightforward way to interact with Trello, namely directly from your computer's desktop and without the need for a web browser.

We would have loved a bit more system integration, for example, it would have been nice if the app would integrate itself with the system's taskbar or if it would offer native notifications (since Trello only provides notifications via email).
