Tabs for Word

Managing multiple documents at the same time could prove a bit challenging, especially when you need to switch between multiple windows a lot.

One of the manners in which you can overcome this shortcoming is to install the Tabs for Word add-in, which allows you to open multiple documents in the same Word window, thus being able to switch between them much easier.

The tool provides you with the possibility to customize the looks of your tabs with only a few mouse clicks. You can change the style and layout of tabs, and you can also modify the font settings and color options.

After installing the program, you can view the tab bar right above the workspace in Microsoft Word (beneath the Ribbon). You can choose to hide or show these tabs at any time, and you can also move the tabs bar to any side of the workspace (bottom included).

You can set custom mouse action options for your tabs by going to the program's Settings window. You can choose to close tabs with a middle mouse click or with a double-click, or to create a new document with a double-click on the tab bar's blank space.

The software allows you to customize keyboard shortcuts to take better advantage of the tool's features, to switch between tabs, or to go to a particular tab. By default, the application informs you when you try to close multiple tabs, but you can change this as well.
