SecurePad

SecurePad is a small-sized and intuitive plugin for Notepad++ users, which gives them the possibility to effortlessly encrypt and decrypt text using a password.

The tool takes advantage of Blowfish, the renown security algorithm developed to scramble text based on a predefined algorithm and unique cryptographic key.

This way, the seemingly gibberish text can be decrypted only by the persons who have the correct password that was used for encryption, provided that the scrambled text has remained intact.

To integrate the plugin into Notepad++, you just have to extract the .dll file from the downloaded package and copy it to the "plugins" folder of the text editing application. There is no setup file involved.

From this point on, you can access SecurePad from the "Plugins" menu of Notepad++. It's capable of encoding the currently opened document using any password you enter and confirm, or to process only the selected text.

You can encrypt the scrambled text for as many times as you want. Also, it's recommended to use a complex password made from a random combination of lower and upper case letters, numbers, and symbols.

This way, you can make sure that no other person will be able to decrypt your secret message using SecurePad or another program with Blowfish support. To decode text, you just have to enter and confirm the password used at encryption.

To sum it up, SecurePad may not be a sophisticated security program, but it provides Notepad++ users with a quick and efficient way of encrypting credit card information, email account passwords or other important data using a password and the Blowfish cipher. It's free and can be easily used by anyone.
