Google Books Download

Google Books Download is a program that can download books stored in the Google database, so you can read them offline on an ebook reader or any other storage unit. It downloads any number of pages from a book, as long as they are available online.

The interface of the application is clean and intuitive. Google Books Download comes with a built-in web browser, so you can easily navigate to a Google Books link to download an item.

There are two downloading modes available - manually and automatically; the latter option does not require any commands from the user.

Initializing the downloading procedure is done with the simple click of a button. However, Google Books Download may take a long time to get all the pages. You can open the output directory to view the resulted items; all books have the PDF format.

On the other hand, the application does not let you set up the output directory and file name. Moreover, you cannot minimize it to the system tray area or create a queue of multiple books for the downloading procedure.

Google Books Download runs on a low amount of CPU and system memory, so it does not interfere with the runtime of other active processes. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests and the app did not hang or crash.

On the downside, the program has not been updated for a while. But, even so, Google Books Download supplies users with a simple solution to download books from the Google database and turn them into the PDF format.
