Portable ColorPic

Portable ColorPic is a lightweight software application that comes in handy for web designers, as it helps them grab any color from the desktop and view the corresponding decimal and hexadecimal values.

Since this is the portable version of the program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to explore any color from your screen on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.

The utility reveals a clean feature lineup where you have quick access to several preset color palettes.

Portable ColorPic gives you the possibility to choose between various predefined palettes (e.g. Grayscale, Basic Colors, Magenta WebSafe Shades), rename the palettes, as well as edit, delete, or create new ones.

What’s more, with the aid of the magnifier you can closely examine each part of your screen. Plus, you can switch to a full screen mode for a better focus on your work.

The tool is able to automatically reveal the decimal and hexadecimal values as soon as you hover the mouse cursor over the desired area of the desktop. The hue, saturation, and lightness values are also shown in the primary panel.

You can manually alter the hue, saturation, lightness, and RGB values. These adjustments can be easily applied, thanks to the built-in sliders. Last but not least, you can zoom in or out of the magnifier area and insert a colored grid inside of the magnifier field.

During our testing we have noticed that Portable ColorPic carries out a task very quickly. However, it is not quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer may be affected.

Portable ColorPic offers some handy set of features for helping you grab and explore any color from your screen. The resizable magnifier, preset and custom palettes, and manual color adjustments make it an ideal app for rookies and professionals alike.
