FirePassword Portable

This is the portable counterpart of FirePassword, an ultra-simplistic command-line application designed to retrieve lost or forgotten passwords saved in Mozilla Firefox.

Although it has a console interface, the tool has intuitive options that make it approachable, whether users are experienced with command-line utilities or not.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can put the executable file in any part of the hard disk and click it to run (or call its process from a Command Prompt window if this option doesn't work).

Another possibility is to save FirePassword to a USB flash disk or other form of mass storage device, to be able to run it on any PC effortlessly and without installing third-party apps beforehand.

An important factor to keep in mind is that the tool does not modify Windows registry settings or create extra files on the HDD without your approval, leaving it clean after removal.

FirePassword immediately displays a list with all available commands at startup, enabling you to write all identified passwords to file from the current Firefox profile path (with or without the master passwords), as well as dump all keys from the current or other profile with the master password.

A confirmation message is shown on task completion. The output file includes the full profile and output file paths, master password, excluded host list, along with the the list of saved user names and passwords (with each one's host).

As expected, the app has minimal impact on system performance, since it uses low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash. To sum it up, FirePassword quickly recovers all passwords stored in Mozilla Firefox, and it's a great acquisition to al users who prefer command-line utilities.
