Smart Timestamp Portable

Developed as the portable counterpart of Smart Timestamp, Smart Timestamp Portable is a lightweight and clever tool capable of modifying the date and time attributes of files and folders.

It comes in handy when you're organizing personal photos, documents or videos, and looking to assign the correct timestamps to files to accurately remember important events.

The tool's not wrapped in a setup package, but it's not entirely portable, because it needs .NET Framework to work properly. You can just copy the downloaded .exe file to the hard disk or removable storage unit to directly run it on any PC with this platform installed. It doesn't modify system registry settings or create new files on the disk.

The user-friendly interface is represented by a basic window with a neatly structured layout, where you should be able to quickly figure out how to work with Smart Timestamp Portable.

In the first pane, you can use the Explorer-based structure to locate and select files and folders to alter timestamps for. If you want to automatically include all files from a specified directory, you can resort to the second pane, where it's also possible to include or exclude subfolders, as well as to filter files by mask (name and extension).

The application gives you the possibility to tinker with any combination of the date and time of creation, last modification, and last access. This can be done by consulting a calendar and writing time in 24-clock format.

All modifications are applicable with the click of a button, after which you can open the "Properties" dialog of the target files and directories in Windows Explorer to inspect results. A couple of keyboard shortcuts are supported.

Tasks were executed swiftly in our tests, during which the software utility remained light on system resources usage. It was stable throughout its runtime.

Although it doesn't have rich features, Smart Timestamp Portable contains just the necessary and suffice options to offer a straightforward solution for altering the timestamps of files and folders.
