AndroChef Java Decompiler

AndroChef Java Decompiler is intended to assist programmers in transforming compiled files into an approximate reconstruction of the original source code, in order to view how the application was built. As its name clearly states, it is especially designed for processing Java applets and binaries.

The application is compatible with multiple file types, namely JAR and Java CLASS files, as well as Dalvik compiled bytecode formats, such as DEX and APK (which can be installed on Android-based devices).

The GUI includes a single window where all the options are comprised. As such, using the application to process a file is not a difficult task, provided you have basic Java programming knowledge to know what each setting actually does.

Once you select the input file and the output location, you can proceed to configuring the decompiling settings. The application can hide bridge methods, invocations, constructors and synthetic class members, decompile assertions, generic signatures, enumerations and inner classes. There are options for re-building variable names, removing empty exceptions or changing the name of equivocal classes.

The list of decompiled classes are displayed in tree view, along with an organized table that includes details about file types and sizes, used compression method and so on. Clicking on any of the generated files reveals the human-readable source code, which you can copy to the clipboard or export to various formats, such as HTML, Java, JAD, RTF, TXT and JS (JavaScript). The 'Search' function helps you find important code sections in an instant.
