Puppet Enterprise

Puppet Enterprise is a professional application designed for system administrators who want to deploy software and automate repetitive tasks, in order to improve their productivity. It facilitates a centralized solution for configuring servers and network devices in a data center or in the cloud. 

The program features a web-based console UI and APIs for examining critical events, administering nodes and users, and seamlessly modifying resources. It has an intuitive declarative language (Puppet) for defining instructions on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) and on as many computers as necessary.

PuppetDB gathers information to build a database with information about each node existing in your infrastructure, giving you the possibility to search for data and integrate the database with your tools. Meanwhile, the Puppet Server, which runs on the Java Virtual Machine, handles the configuration settings for all Puppet agent nodes.

Puppet Enterprise has an event inspector that permits you to visually change the nodes, classes and resources, along with a role-based access control module for managing user and group permissions, which is available in the Puppet node manager and which can be integrated with Active Directory and OpenDLAP.

A Puppet server reporting component facilitates a streamlined method for sharing important information within teams in real-time. It gathers metrics, such as active requests, execution times and compilation loads, in order to send them to JMX-supported third-party notification utilities.
