By default, the utility opens with a sample avatar, and you can choose a different one if you are not pleased with the default look. You can experiment not only with several types of faces and haircuts but also with multiple styles of shoes and settle on the configuration you like best.

The next step involves altering the avatar’s clothing by modifying the color, texture and shape as you see fit. For instance, you can assign a certain color to the front and a different one to the back of the garment, then adjust the opacity and texture.

The avatar’s measurements can be edited as well, meaning that you can enter new values for the bust or waist circumference, the waist back or front length, as well as the height of the leg, waistline, neck point or bust.

Whatever change you make can be previewed in real-time in 3D - you can easily switch to another mode, such as mesh or monochrome surface. Also, once you are done configuring your newly-designed clothes, you can preview the result in a 3D simulation, or you can animate it.

If you do not like any of the sample avatars, you can import custom ones from your OBJ, Collada or FBX files whereas the output files can be saved in several formats as well. More precisely, you can export the outcome to OBJ, FBX, and LXO while the animation can be saved to an OBJ sequence or a Maya cache file.
