Cleanmgr+

Cleanmgr+ is a lightweight utility that uses the idea behind Microsoft Disk Cleanup Tool and adds a few extra features so that you can wipe more than standard junk from your machine. The app is helpful for computers running Windows 10 version 1809, particularly since Microsoft announced that the cleaning utility is deprecated.

As previously mentioned, even though the utility uses the idea behind Disk Cleanup Tool, it embeds several features. For starters, you can import scripts that you created with other third-party tools and hence, you can configure a cleaning of your system on a regular basis. Consequentially, you no longer need to worry about maintenance, as the files are erased automatically at the time you configured.

What makes the tool special is that it employs Windows own resources for this purpose so you do not need to worry about erasing registry keys or other system-compliant data being wiped. Among the types of files that are deleted with this tool, you can count Windows Update Logs, simple logs, Icon Cache, Downloads, Error Reporting, MUICache, Sidebar Cache as well as the cache from the browsers.

On a side note, the app recognizes a handful of browsers, namely Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi and Windows Defender for the time being. Hopefully, the developer can configure the app to acknowledge more browsers in the future.

The program boasts a clean, streamlined interface where you can preview the data that is going to be deleted. Simply hit the Preview Tab and the app displays the files that it considers can be wiped without affecting the overall functionality of the operating system. You should bear in mind that you cannot select individual files, but rather solely groups for this purpose.

Cleanmgr+ is a reliable replacement for Microsoft's cleaning tool and provides a convenient way to delete files that are taking up a lot of space on your computer.
