Granite Portable

Granite Portable is a software tool which was developed specifically to help individuals place all their important data into a password-protected vault.

As the name clearly suggests it, this application is portable, which means that you can easily skip the installation process. Consequently, the Windows registry and Start menu are not going to suffer any changes, and no leftovers will remain on the drive after its removal.

The interface you are greeted by presents a simple and intuitive interface. It creates a pop-up icon in the corner of your screen, which means that it is also non-obtrusive. Both power and novice users can learn how to handle it, without encountering any kind of problems.

From the first launch, you are required to input a username and passkey, yet you should know you can change these credentials at any point, from the settings panel. The main window contains a list of shortcuts for certain websites (Facebook, Google, Wikipedia, YouTube), places and utilities (Control Panel, Sound, System etc.).

The vault can be opened with just a click of the button in Windows File Explorer, while you can also upload a picture from the drive for the user image in a BMP, JPG and GIF format, and change the app’s theme and opacity.
