Attempt to recover accidentally deleted or lost files from fixed and removable drives, with options to find by name, file format, or general lookup. #Recover deleted files #Recover accidentally removed files #Bring back lost files #Recover #Recovery #Scan
Chances are you just returned from a vacation, but the drive on which your photos are stored became corrupts or you accidentally removed some files. All hope is not lost, especially because there are various specialized applications out there like Undo It which help you bring back those files from beyond the Recycle Bin.
First of all, the application saves you the entire time and effort of going through a setup process and can be used as soon as it reaches your computer. Note, however, that it requires .NET Framework to function, but there’s a high chance it’s already on your computer because it’s a default feature in modern Windows iterations.
The interface of the application doesn’t really impress, but it is wrapped around a modern design, with clear icons representing its functions. Most of the space is where you view and select the target files, while a side panel provides quick access to recovery types and options.
The core feature here is to help you recover deleted files which are no longer in Recycle Bin. Note that detection ratio is somewhat reduced on SSD drives because of their architecture. Moreover, files deleted a really long time ago or removed through specialized wiping tools might not be found at all, but this is a general case with recovery solutions.
You can use several methods to attempt to detect files of interest. If you have absolutely no info regarding files, you can use the Scan All section. Here you can choose a target drive, all of them, or a custom folder to be scanned.
On the other hand, you can input a text string to be used as search criteria for files. Drive selection options are the same. Last but not least, there’s the possibility to search by file type, with options to look up Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, MP3, pictures, DLL, HTML, ISO, ICO, JS, LOG, RAR, TXT, and XML.
To sum it up, Undo It comes with good intentions, but it feels a little rough around the edges overall. You can use different methods in an attempt to find lost files, with a rather fast detection time, and easy way to select files you want to restore.
