PC Benchmark

Before deciding to upgrade your computer's hardware to make it run faster, you can try running a benchmark and finding simple ways to optimize the system without spending any money. Such a tool is PC Benchmark.

This lightweight application gets installed quickly and with minimum effort on your behalf. At startup, it runs a scan automatically to determine the current performance level of your computer. Since there is no kind of configuration involved, it means that the program can be used even by those with no kind of experience in computer testing software.

Once the test is over, you can find out the capacity your computer is working at, along with two parts indicating the current and potential level. To learn tips and tricks on how to improve performance without involving hardware, it's necessary to click the "Optimize your PC" button in the main window.

This opens a page in your default web browser, where you have to enter a name and email address to proceed further. Confirmation via email isn't required. For example, one tip recommended by the application implies stopping certain processes from running in the background, in order to free up RAM.

This web page contains your computer's speed score (compared to other PCs that have used the same program). There are also graphs available with your score compared to all computers, your friends, desktops, and similar machines.

The program worked well on the most recent Windows edition in our tests. It didn't put a strain on the machine's performance and finished tests quickly. On the other side, we expected additional tips related to PC optimization. Nevertheless, PC Benchmark is fast and easy to use by anyone with no PC benchmarking experience.
