sharefi is a lightweight application designed to simplify the way you share files and folders between devices connected in the same network. The app is portable, so just launch and you are ready to share the files. Although the program doesn’t require extra configuration, it goes without saying that you need to have it installed on the devices you plan to share the files with.

The interface is user-friendly and is designed as a dashboard that includes three easy-access categories, namely devices connected, shares and downloads. You can share a file or directory, all you need to do is simply add it in the Share tab along with a tag. While the tag may seem bothersome at first, the truth is that it will come in handy in the long run, when you want to search for a particular file you previously shared.

The sharing is not resumed to files alone, but you can also include folders, a feature that will prove useful when working on a collaboration project, as all the members of the team will be able to access it without too much hassle.

It can be argued that there are already several ways you can share files directly, such as connecting a USB cable or via Bluetooth. While true, both methods imply some extra steps that not everyone is willing or wanting to do.

Bluetooth, for instance, comes with the disadvantage that the device must be paired and in range. On the other hand, sharefi uses Wi-Fi to enable file transfer between two devices, which means that it can transfer files at much higher speeds over longer distances.
