Corrupted Disk Fixer

The Windows CHKDSK tool can be used to verify the integrity of the file system on a selected drive and fix any encountered errors. However, those who are not familiar with the command console may not know how to launch this utility.

Corrupted Disk Fixer is a handy application that can make this task easier, as it enables you to run the “chkdsk /f” command from an intuitive graphical interface and repair your drives in no time at all.

Of course, the “chkdsk /f” command can easily be launched from the console, but this program makes it possible for inexperienced users to repair their drives as well.

Once you have launched the application, you only need to select the drive in question, and then click the Fix button twice. As long as the drive is not currently in use and can be locked, the process should be launched immediately.

However, if the selected disk cannot be locked, the application cannot check it for errors, and it is not possible to schedule the operation for the next startup, something that can be done when using the command console.

One of the main benefits of using Corrupted Disk Fixer is that it does not need to be installed before use, and it does not store any additional files on your PC or create new registry entries.

As a result, the application can be stored on various portable storage devices and used to repair disk errors on multiple computers.

As has already been mentioned, the program simply runs the “chkdsk /f” command when you click the Fix button. Sadly, you do not have the option of using the “/r” parameter instead, which is indented for locating and recovering bad sectors.

As it stands, Corrupted Disk Fixer is not a very versatile utility, as it is only capable of fixing file system errors, and it can only process drives that are not currently in use. However, it can be useful in certain scenarios, and novices, in particular, should appreciate its simple, intuitive interface.
