Get a better view of disk drives, and network drives that use the most space on your computer in order to help you decide from where to remove some files. #Disk Space #View Disk Space #Free Space Viewer #Free Space #Viewer #View
Managing your disk space might seem like a trivial task, especially now since storage devices keep getting bigger and bigger. However, this can quickly lead to your hard disk drive getting full, case in which you get to spend a lot of time hunting files and folder that occupy space for no reason. To make this hunt easier, Free Disk Space helps enlist drives which take up the most.
A neat advantage is that you don’t have to go through a setup process to make the application work, which means you can easily carry it around on a USB flash drive to analyze disk space on other PCs as well. System registries remain unaffected, and so does the health status of the computer you’re using it on.
All the application has to offer can be found in a clean interface, making it easy to identify all drives, and corresponding values. These are all shown with name, free space, total amount, a graph for better visualization, as well as percentage.
The application instantly reveals space related options on launch, with no time spent scanning them. This is mostly because it reads basic info, without letting you navigate through any folders, making it an alternative to what Windows already provides. A sum field is also available, which comes in handy when handling multiple drives.
The lack of the possibility to browse through folders is a minor inconvenience, but there’s a bigger issue here. In other words, external drives aren’t detected, so you need to manually analyze thumb drives, and other removable storage devices. On the other hand, administrator computers can choose to include network drives, as well as CD-ROMs.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that Free Disk Space comes with good intentions, letting you get a better view of disk space used by all your drives, to help free up some space. Unfortunately, navigation is not included, and the lack of support for removable storage devices has a considerable impact on overall practicality.
