Work with more than one computer at a time through this lightweight utility: connect your machines, and transfer files between them, use one to complete operations on the other, and so on. #Computer Share #Multiple Desktop #Window Sharing #Computer #System #Desktop
Multi-monitor setups make for a great boon to workflows: you essentially have more space to work with, and that's only one of the advantages. Being able to work on two things at once is excellent for productivity, but unless your computer is up to par — hardware-wise — you may encounter some issues in your multitasking.
Perhaps you've wondered, how would it be to somehow link two computers together, and work on both of them at once? GiMeSpace KVM Share Pro comes with a very enticing proposition in that regard: through it, users can simultaneously work on multiple computers, transfer files between them, and share windows seamlessly.
Technically, the multi-computer setup you can achieve with such a tool can also be classified as a modified multi-monitor setup of sorts. You're essentially working on more than one monitor at a time, but without the supposed resource hit of having a sole computer handle all of the multitasking. By pooling the resources of two or three computers, users with taxing workflows can benefit from this extra performance — at least in theory.
In practice, you'll first have to connect the computers. Enter the relevant IP of the server computer, configure some settings, and on you go. These settings can be particularly relevant: state which computer is on the left and right sides, set up an area for the mouse switching to take effect, and choose what you want to share. Mouse, keyboard, windows, and even clipboard, to drag files between computers.
As advertised, the tool does indeed work to bridge a gap, as they say, between two or more computers. Getting used to the mouse switching can take a little bit of doing, but operating multiple computers at once feels surprisingly natural here. There can be a bit of a delay when moving your mouse, which is most likely caused by the latency between devices, but it's nothing too bad.
And again, as the program states, you're able to fully share windows, keyboard, mouse, and clipboard between the client and server computers. Switching focus and sharing windows are of note here, as users can set hotkeys to instantly trigger those functions. You can set a size cap for the clipboard transfer, which may be of use if you wish to improve your inter-computer latency.
Users will also notice the slight display dimming when switching focus, which can work as a way to notify the user of the operation. This can be configured by altering the Grey out amount option, where you can disable it entirely if it's bothering you.
GiMeSpace KVM Share Pro is something you don't come across too often: it effectively enables multi-computer workflows in a quite intuitive manner, which can help users see a boost in productivity.
