Close active windows directly from the title bar menu, or tray icon, hide everything, set priority level of foreground processes, or configure window transparency level. #Process Manager #Control Process #Priority Manager #Prioritize #Priority #Manager
Everything running on your computer is monitored by the Task Manager so you can kill unresponsive, or malicious processes. There are also alternatives to extend this functionality, and one suitable example is PMW (Process Manager for Windows), letting you handle foreground processes with just a few mouse clicks.
It’s advisable to run the application with administrator privileges so it can properly detect running processes. When not directly used, it stays in the tray area, which is also one of the locations from which to easily put its functions to good use. Another way to handle them is from the target program’s title bar context menu.
As mentioned above, the application can only take care of foreground processes, which means anything running in the background is not included. Sadly, it would have been useful to handle them from the tray area, leaving the system menu integration strictly to foreground items.
You can choose what options to include in the system, and tray menus. As such, you can enable the kill menu, priority, always on top, hide me, hide others, minimize to tray, set transparency, hide all, unhide, and a few more.
Apart from the two types of menus, the application gives you the possibility to kill processes even faster. This is possible through hotkey support, but you need to get used to default configurations, because you’re not allowed to change them.
Note that the application automatically runs with Windows, and manual intervention is required to remove it from the list startup items. However, this is mostly an advantage, since it puts all functions at your disposal as soon as you reach the desktop.
All things considered, we can say that PMW (Process Manager for Windows) is a practical extension to the default Task Manager, letting you close foreground windows and programs with just a few mouse clicks. With additional comfort options to hide all windows, set priority, and configure transparency, it’s surely worth your while.
