UninstallAbility

Windows keeps track of everything it does and needs in order to ensure proper functionality. This goes for programs installed on your computer, with a list of items that appear in the general uninstaller. Just so the list doesn’t get damaged, UninstallAbility comes with the means to back it up, or add missing elements.

The application works with the list it automatically generates once it gets installed, so it’s best to deploy it on your computer at a safe point during usage, and not when it’s too late. For more efficiency, you can pay a visit to the options menu and choose the frequency at which backups are automatically created, either daily or once in a while.

All created backup files are stored in a list in the same panel, with the possibility to remove them, or configure the application to do so whenever the storage exceeds a custom number of items. However, you need to manually make the application run on startup to efficiently create automatic backups, because there’s no option provided by the application for auto startup.

The whole process of UninstallAbility takes you through a series of steps, in which you either get to manually create a backup, or choose to restore one or more programs. Creating a backup only requires you to press a button, with a list of all items shown so you can check if anything is missing.

The application itself can’t uninstall applications, and is merely an extension and recovery tool for the Windows default uninstaller. If the list is damaged, or you can’t locate certain apps, you can either restore one of the saved backups, or find the missing program in a list and let the program add it in the uninstaller.

To sum it up, programs and video games are best uninstalled when not used or done, so you don’t risk clogging your computer or creating compatibility issues. However, just like any computer feature, the list of items to uninstall can become corrupt, and it is up to UninstallAbility to make sure you can keep an extra copy for when you decide to clean your computer.
