Exactly what I was looking for

It’s not often that you go on the app store and find something that exactly matches what you’re looking for. This is a rare exception. It has all the features I need, and not a whole lot of extra fluff. The part that I found extremely helpful was the water chemistry tracking function. I keep very careful track of my water, and it allows me to record even the trace elements. You can customize it to record what you measure, alerts can be set up to remind you when levels are to high. There’s also a helpful database of fish, plants, inverts, and coral, but you can plug in your own as well. It’s open-ended yet intuitive design makes it a must have for anyone who wants to manage an aquarium. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s definitley worth the money, and well exceeded my expectations.

Nice app

The previous review (unloved anemone) must be a mouth breather. If you can use iTunes, you can use Maquarium, you nitwit. There isn’t that much to click on and the things that are clickable are obvious. Go on an try it. You won’t hurt yourself. Further, there is a trial download available on the developer’s site. Try it first before you buy it.

That said, I have a couple of requests and will likely have more as I use the app more. One, when adding a new item to the aquarium, there should be a date field, and when something dies, I would like to be able to record that without removing the item from the list.

Second, a calendar view would be nice. And finally, keeping an aquarium is a hobby. It would be cool if this app had some social features so that sharing with fellow hobbyists were a bit easier.

I manage a pico reef tank and an outdoor pond with Maquarium. I enjoy the app. You might, too.

Waste of money

So I just purchased this and cannot believe what a complete ripoff.

I have NEVER been so unhappy with an APP. There are NO instructions that I can find and as far as I can tell AND even though I tried to contact the support I have recieved no reply.

DO NOT BUY THIS APP!

I feel like an idiot that I wasted so much money. Might as well as flushed it down the toilet.

Developer Response ,

Unhappy anemone,
We had replied to your support request in less than 6 hours of your inquiry responding to all of the questions you had. There is a full list of help topics in the manual found in the Help menu. Unfortunately, you had already requested a refund from Apple and left this review shortly after purchase. We hope you found aquarium software that fit your needs.
