StickyNotes
StickyNotes © is a convenient application used to make virtual sticky notes on your Windows PC.
StickyNotes sits quietly in your system tray until you need to use it. Right-click will bring up the menu, double-click will toggle hide all/show all StickyNotes. To create a StickyNote, right-click the icon, go to Stickies, click Add Sticky. StickyNotes are automatically saved when anything changing inside the StickyNote such as text typed, anything cut or pasted within the sticky, size changed, sticky moved position, color change, etc.

A dialog box will ask you for the name of your sticky. Either type in the name of your sticky or optionally leave it blank. If a sticky name is already used, the name will be changed to "Sticky ##" where ## is the number of duplicate name stickies. Hitting the 'X' on the sticky will permanently delete the sticky. You will be asked for confirmation to delete it. The software manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the loss of any data either intentional or unintentional use of the program. Hitting the down arrow will hide the sticky and can be shown again with the system tray icon.
The sticky can be moved by dragging any part of the border and the size can be changed by using the size grip at the bottom right corner of the border.
Stickies can be customized in may different ways. Right-click inside the text area or the border of the sticky to open up the menu for various customizations such as color, transparency or renaming. The difference between right-clicking the border and right-clicking the text area is the text area also has text box specific functions such as copy, paste, cut, case change, etc.
Choosing a color for your sticky can be done in several ways: select a predefined color from the list, use the color picker or type in a color name or even a hex code for a color. Invalid typed name or hex code will leave the color as it was.
When adjusting the transparency, if the transparency level drops below 10%, the transparency is disabled and the window is hidden. This is to make sure that you don't make an invisible window that can't be accessed. To show it again, use the system tray icon to show it again. When using the slide bar to adjust the transparency, the slide bar will disappear after you get done moving the bar. This is done intentionally.
StickyNotes uses a Rich Text Box so more than just text can be stored in it. Items can be dragged and dropped into the sticky such as files, documents, etc. Other things may be pasted in such as screen captures or rich text with different fonts, colors, html web links etc. Objects dropped in are not supported by the software manufacturer and large items dropped into these are highly discouraged as the StickyNote file gets rewritten every time something changes (such as text typed). This can slow down the program extremely bad if a large object is pasted in, possibly causing the program to lock up or crash. This is not a bug, it is just the nature of how the program works.
StickyNotes can be saved into separate files by right-clicking on the sticky (either border or text area) and choosing the "Save Sticky to File" option. This will open a file save dialog box. The default filename is the name of the sticky (but can be changed as desired) and the extension is .sticky. If a sticky is closed after saved to a file, you can easily retrieve it by using the system tray to open a sticky file. Alternately, you can save ALL stickies using the default names by using the system tray and choosing "Save All Stickies to Files". Please note, any stickies in the folder you choose will be overwritten without warning if the filename already exists. Saving stickies can be useful if you don't want to always have the sticky open or if you want to email a sticky to someone else who uses the StickyNotes application.
StickyNotes is now a trialware application that is active for 30 days unregistered and limited to 2 stickies. Registration unlocks the software for unlimited time and unlimited number of stickies.
