Description

Unlike traditional design tools where you have to define nodes and elements to model your structure, iBeams Pro let's you work like you normally do. You sketch out your beam and loads like you would on a design pad, and instantly view shear, moment, deflection and reactions diagrams.

It is very easy to modify and view variations, and you can rapidly analyze several beams in a matter of minutes rather than hours, allowing you to finish your designs more rapidly than ever before.

Features include:

• Beam diagrams with multiple load and support cases and the corresponding shear, moment, deflection, and reaction diagrams
• User editable properties
• Imperial and S.I. units
• Editable material and section properties (ships with AISC, BS5950, CISC, and AS/NZS databases)
• Multiple supports
• Multiple loads
• Joints and Moment Releases
• Annotations
• synchronize preferences and property settings between macOS and iOS versions of this application
• support for storing documents on Cloud shares

Nice to finally find a Mac based beam analysis program

I just stumbled upon this app today and it seemed like a handy structural engineering tool. It took a little tweaking to get it set up for my typical calculations (s.i. units, plf loads, etc), but once I did, I was off an running. Prior to buying this app, I've been using a 1990's version of FrameMac running under Classic on an old Mac. iBeamsPro will be a great help and will preclude the need to start up the old computer. It will take further time to input my typical beam sizes and materials, but I can live with that for now. In the future, it would be nice to be able to import a text file containing section properties for standard timber and steel sizes.

I originally reviewed this app in 2018, so I figured I’d give an update. The app has received occasional updates over the years, and remains a simple, easy to use beam analysis tool. It’s a regular part of my structural engineering work flow and I really appreciate the fact that exists. I’d had to have to launch Windows (via BootCamp) to access something similar on the dark side.

Solid application from a responsive developer

I have been using iBeams Pro for several years now and what has impressed me most is the responsiveness of the developer. This is a nice, simple application that does the job very well and saves a ton of time for calculating indeterminate beams.

Very Well Done!

After being a long-time user of Dr Beam Pro for OS9, a similar application for OSX is welcome! iBeam Pro is easy to use and edit. Applying loads and getting results are a snap! I had a few comments about the app that I forwarded to the developer. He responded quickly and indicated that my suggestions would be incorporated in future releases. Can't beat that! Very well done!
