Enum Programs

Version 1.8.1

THIS TOOL HAS BEEN REPLACED BY FAST SOFTWARE AUDIT BUT YOU CAN STILL DOWNLOAD IT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO

Use this tool to quickly see what software is installed on a remote computer.
I spent a long time getting this to work exactly the same as Add/Remove Programs, so the list of installed software you get should be exactly the same as what you would see if you ran Add/Remove Programs on the remote PC. This makes this application different to a lot of the other scripts or apps out there that list installed software, as they usually include lots of items that you would not expect to see (like system components).

Note that this application needs to be able to read the registry of the computer you are trying to get the installed programs from, so you must be running it as a user account that has permission to read the registry of the remote computer and the Remote Registry service must be started on the remote computer.

Windows Updates
I never really spent a lot of time on the updates detection routine, as I was just interested in detecting installed programs not installed windows updates etc. So I'm afraid the update detection is not perfect (especially on Windows 7) and you might want to rely on another method (WMI for example) if you want to get installed updates.

Here's a screenshot of what the application looks like and you can use the Download button at the top of this page to download it:

As always, I'm interested to hear if this program is useful to you or if you have any problems with it, so feel free to send me an email letting me know what you think.
