Memory Pictures Viewer (Windows)

As photographers ourselves, we take numerous photos everywhere we go and over time, looking at those pictures, it sometimes draw a blank as to what happened and where that place was. That got us thinking and the whole development for Memory Pictures viewer began. That is to build a better photo viewer which not only lets you recall what you have taken but also where and any underlining story behind it.

Memory Pics Viewer lets you view JPEG Photos in a brand new way. It will show you the GPS Coordinates, Map Views and Notes embedded within the photos.

This takes advantage of the power of the EXIF metadata header which comes embedded with JPEG photos taken off from a digital camera or a smartphone. Smartphones’ cameras have been used quite widely to take candid shots and a great thing about them is that they come with GPS and the GPS information gets embedded in the photos.

Memory Pictures Viewer supports JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG, TIFF, Canon RAW (CR2 and CR3), DNG, FujiFilm RAW, Nikon RAW, Olympus RAW, Panasonic RAW and Pentax RAW photos.

Picture, Time and Date and Location paints part of the story and we thought that it was best to include the ability to embed your own notes to the photos which is not stored outside of the photos but everything nicely packaged in it. So just bring up the photos, view it with Memory Pictures Viewer and it’s all there. The best part is that we used what is already existing inside the EXIF metadata, we just made the presentation of all those data in a more user friendly format. What’s embedded are just bunch of numbers.

This viewer is distributed free of charge and can be use with any JPEG photos but works best with those which includes GPS and notes, particularly embedded with our Memory Pics application. Currently, Memory Pictures is available on the Mac App Store as a Mac application. Mapkit on the Mac platform does help in that development quite significantly.

We hope that you enjoy using Memory Pictures Viewer and do spread the word around.  Did we mentioned that Memory Pictures Viewer is FREE ?
