It’s okay

It does the converting but the output is not really PDF, It’s more like an image saved as PDF. Which is bad because when you zoom in, the text doesn’t stay crisp and gets distorted. It is fine because I downloaded this app for free but if it gets paid again it’s not worth the price.

Conforms to the principle of least surprise

I threw some very awkward XPS files at "XPS to PDF", and it did what I expected in every single case (though I had to go verify that once, but more on that later).

I access SAP at work via a VPN from home to a Microsoft beowser on the other end, and had some issues getting it to save PDF files to my local host; though I could access the Microsoft XPS-Writer's folder.

When I resolved the former issue, I had already created a couple of XPS files, and decided to generate PDF files and test the conversion of "XPS to PDF", which I had downloaded in the meantime.

At every point in my test (with one exception, of which more in a moment) the PDFs were smaller than the originating XPS files ans well as the reference PDF files generated by SAP.

The exception was an auto-rotated landscape printed page, which was not only an order of magnitude larger than the reference PDF, but also contained the embedded text as a raster image. Further investigation showed the real culprit to be the Microsoft XPS-Writer; once I had convinced that to do the "right thing™", and print the page in landscape (which, incidentally, also dropped the XPS file's size by a factor of 10) the resultant PDF file once more came in at 70% the size of the source XPS file—though in this case slightly larger than the SAP reference PDF.

These guys have done a credible job with "XPS to PDF"; and it's well worth the download.

Worked Perfectly for Me

I needed to be able to read a single XPS document. Some had suggested Google Drive (Docs), that didn’t work. The “Lite” XPS apps were unusably limited (half-pages or only half of total pages). This app worked quickly and perfectly for me from within MacOS Sierra. Thanks!!!
