AccStore – What is it?


AccStore can assist you remembering your IDs & passwords.

It resides in the system-tray looking as: .

tray_menu


It works like this,


Only once, will you ask AccStore to remember your account (Viz. ID-Password)

Then the next time you need to type in the ID, just press i,

& for the Password just press p

Simple isn’t it!?.

Let’s see.


01. Master Password


The first time the AccStore loads,

it’ll ask you to setup the master-password.

The master-password is the only thing you need to remember!

The master-password ensures nobody save you have the sole access to your AccStore.


02. Adding Accounts


Now the question: how to tell AccStore to remember your accounts?

It’s simple: right-click on the tray-icon.

Choose “Add a new account.”

& when AccStore asks, simply type in your master-password.

Now you’ll be having something like this:

Fill up those Account Name, Login ID & Password fields.

To navigate through the text input fields you may use the tab key.

Or even simpler, just hit the enter key.

(The f11 key’ll Show/Hide the password, while you’re at the Password field.)


03. Editing & Removing Accounts


Question: How to change an account’s details? How to delete it altogether?

Click the tray-icon, verify master-password.

So you’ll have something like this:

These will be all the Accounts that you would have added.

Now select the account you want to edit or delete.

Then right-click (or hit the context-menu key).

Choose Edit & you’ll be able to setup the account again, just like adding one.

Choose Forget & you’ll be able to remove the account altogether.

You may also use the f11 key to Edit an account.

The delete key to Delete accounts.

The ctrl+n can be used to add a New account.

The ctrl+i can be used to Import accounts.

The ctrl+f can be used to search through the accounts to filter by their names.

The ctrl+shift+E can be used to export accounts,

which will automatically store them in the,

“This PC/Documents/AccStore Accounts.txt” file.

Using the LEFT side keys will also show up the above file in the file-explorer.


04. Exporting Accounts


To export or backup your accounts, right-click the tray-icon.

Choose “Export”, verify master-password.

Thus you’ll be having your Stored Accounts displayed.

Then select as many accounts as you want to export.

(Or you may even choose none to export all of them at once)

Then use ctrl+e keys to Export aaccounts.

Or you may also right-click (or hit the context-menu key).

& choose Export.

Choose where you want the backup file be placed.

Hit Save. Done!

The accounts will have been exported.


05. Importing Accounts


To ReStore accounts from a backup file simply right-click on the tray-icon.

Choose “ReStore.”

Verify master-password.

Choose where your backup file is placed.

Hit Open & you’ll be shown the accounts that the backup file has.

Select as many accounts as you want to import.

(To import all of them is even easier – just do no selection & ..)

Simply hit the enter key.

Or you may also right-click (or hit the context-menu key).

& select Import.

You’ll be asked whether to retain details if an account already exists or overwrite.

Choose accordingly. Done.

& the accounts will have been imported!


06. Resetting master-password


To reset your master-password simply right-click on the tray-icon.

Choose “Setup your master password.”

Verify the current master-password.

You’ll will be having,

setup_master_password

Simply, type in the new master-password as per your wish.

& There you go!

You have reset the master-password.


07. The Main Function: Accessing an account’s ID & password


Click the AccStore tray-icon.

Verify your master-password & your Stored Accounts will be displayed.

From the Stored Accounts, choose the one account you need.

(Double-clicking it or hitting enter will do)

Immediately you’ll be notified about the hotkeys:

I_for_ID_&_P_for_Password

Now all you’ve got to do,

..is to go to your login form or whatever destination..

..Go inside your login ID field & press i..

(Whoa! ID is in there!)

..Go inside your password field & press p..

(Did you just see that?! Password’s there!)

🙂 Ahaa! It was that simple! 🙂

Press p to quit this hotkeys behaviour.

Pressing c key will..

copy-paste the login ID,

then hit a tab key,

then copy-paste the password,

and finally hit an enter key.

This operation will empty your clipboard.

Pressing e key will..

type-in the login ID,

then hit a tab key,

then type-in the password,

and finally hit an enter key.

Pressing shift+i keys causes the login ID to be copied onto clipboard.

Pressing shift+p keys causes the password to be copied onto clipboard.

Lastly, you may use the w key to wipe the clipboard.



Keyboard Tweaks:

In case you wanna leave off any operation,

any time, just press esc

While any window is open, pressing shift+esc keys,

can be used to exit AccStore from the system-tray.

In case you need this help again just hit the f1 key.

(Or you may even right-click the tray-icon & select “Help.”)

The AccStore starts automatically as the Windows starts.

& it can also be found in your Start Menu items.



Keyboard Tweaks On System-Tray Icon:

Pressing LEFT ctrl+shift keys while clicking key system-tray icon,

can be used to exit AccStore from system-tray.

Pressing RIGHT ctrl+shift keys while clicking key system-tray icon,

can be used to setup the master-password.

Pressing shift key while clicking key system-tray icon,

can be used to import accounts from a backup file.

Pressing ctrl key while clicking key system-tray icon,

can be used to automatically export accounts to,

“This PC/Documents/AccStore Accounts.txt” file.

If the LEFT ctrl key was pressed while clicking key system-tray icon then,

it will also show up the backup file in the file-explorer.



Portable Mode:

The AccStore runs in the portable mode by default.

To run it in the non-portable mode, do one of the follwing.

While launching the AccStore, keep the caps-lock key pressed.

Alternatively, you may launch the AccStore.exe with -NON-PORTABLE argument.
