Version 1.0.1Dated 02 Jan 2017Freeware, Portable(c) 2016-2017 Anand K Guptahttps://sites.google.com/site/mouseshakemenu/See Changes for changes history.See Screen Shots for settings and tray icon images.See Feature & Tips for the feature list and some tips of the application.Description (of the application) :

Click on a window and shake the mouse left and right to popup a menu with 4 buttons. Each button can be assigned to a set of keyboard keys. You can also run a program.

Why should one need this sort of mouse menu, when one can easily press, say, the END key on the keyboard.

Well, while having my lunch on my office table, I like to browse the internet. Reading forum messages, news, blog etc. Now it so happens that I use my right hand to eat and with my left hand I click and scroll the mouse. When I visit a forum message from my rss feed, I may land somewhere in the middle of the page and I need to scroll to the top or bottom of the page. We still do not have a quick way to go to the top or bottom of the page with the mouse. Repeatedly scrolling with left finger tires me. You may be wondering why can't I lift my left hand and press the END key on the keyboard. Well I have moved the keyboard away and put my lunch box there.

To fulfill my requirement, I made Mouse Shake Menu. It has four buttons which can be configured with whatever key sequence I need it to press. The default key sequences I set, which you will find on installing Mouse Shake Menu, are as below,

1. {home} to move to top of the webpage

2. {end} to move to bottom of the webpage

3. {run} explorer.. to open the download folder of the browser, so that I can check the downloaded file.

4. {ctrl}{shift}a which is Ctrl+Shift+A for opening the addons tab, I use Firefox, to enable / disable any addons I may need.

All the above are required for my browsing session when I am having my lunch.

Benefits (of using it) :

Well the benefits are simple. You can do research with left hand while noting down with your right hand. Further you can open portable media player and drag and drop the file you clicked in the explorer window.

Mouse Shake Menu has only one objective. Quick and effective.

Anti-Virus reports malware (what to do?) :

Delete the exe and it's folder. There is nothing we can do as this is false alert and we do not have resource to request all Anti-Virus companies to update their database. Similar problem is faced by small developers worldwide, check below links,

Nir's Blog

You can see the last scan result of the exe from Virus Total web site and will find that major Anti-Virus report it as clean.

Similar applications (if any) :

Googling did not give me any, so I made it myself.

As a developer, we work for commercial ventures in our day jobs, and code something more personally interesting in our spare time. We get more pleasure in making the application, which in turn helps us in our day to day activity and may also benefit others. We use freeware software made by other developers, so we feel happy if we are able to make small contribution to this freeware community.

Hope you will find this software useful.Regards,Anand
