The Walk

In the prototype people complained about not being able to walk in all 8 directions. Well here it is, now you can walk in 8 directions around the world!

Furthermore, we have added a few new sprites to the list. Just for reference, let’s show you the actual sheet of the sprite.

It’s a lot of frames, but its good enough to make most walking seem…natural.

The more the merrier, but too much and It’ll break my budget in two!

So rest assured that once this game is out, walking would be a breeze, and you’ll no longer be confined to the four directional wall most rpg’s use in the old days.

Before I end this little update. Let me show you a picture of the map with the new sprite on it.

CASEAUTUMNCEW.png

As you can see, you’ll notice a subtle shadow underneath the character. This is done so it looks like he’s being anchored unto the ground. This visual representation will basically be what the rest of the game will look like, at least graphics wise.

Hopefully this little entry covers it all. Have a good day!

The long Stretch

It’s been one month, and a lot has happened. Aside from new soundtracks to better maps, the game has been ported unto the latest engine we can find for RPG Maker.

So to see what happened, here are some basic screenshots of the game:

This is what we have so far. Our latest protagonist and revamped maps that are bigger and could fit a larger screen. As mentioned, the game did get greenlit and we are scheduled for release at November 2016.

There will be more to come, but right now our primary goal is to fill these towns with people and NPC’s players can interact with.

This concludes our little update for now

It’s been rather slow, but we can do it!

Progress

It’s been a while since I have written an entry on this website. But, I am just letting you know that things have been going well. It’s a looming thought, but eventually it’s become apparent that what I am doing will be taking a ton of my time.

At this stage, some people would already quit, but for some strange and bizarre reason, I kept on going. It’s a strange thing, indeed. However  it is somewhat reassuring to understand that I never even had the idea of quitting. I simply pushed onward, with the best of my ability

Knowing who I am, this is in itself an achievement.

But enough of that, let me show you something’s that have been drawn up.

The third protagonist is going pretty well. there are still tons more to go through, but, it’s getting there.

Eventually all things will fall into place, all we need is diligence and a tiny bit of luck.

This is an educational experience. I am only at best a boy who hasn’t even scratched the bare surface of the consumer world. This is me taking a stab at reality.

What have I learned?

Power is popularity. No matter how good you are, you are nothing without the world backing you up. A shoddy product might as well outperform a well thought out and complex product.

But that is the reality, and that is how things work around here.

Welp! That’s that folks, coming back soon with another round of updates.

Responsibility

I made a point, and I made a promise. I have to get this game out to the public.

This is my first time seeing something like this get at least somewhere. Sure it’s small, and maybe not the biggest game out there, but I felt really happy seeing a tiny bunch of people saying that it has potential.

I realize that business is tough, and that NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING happens over night.

It’s always effort, and a little bit of luck.

Anyway – the game’s scheduled for November 2016, It’s going to be on a new engine with better graphics and systems…

More news coming soon. Let’s give it our all!

Greenlit by Steam!

REVERE - GREENLIT CERTIFICATE

This is a good day. It seems my game got greenlit. All that’s left is to develop the game and publish it when the time comes. The paper work was tough, but, it was worth it.

What’s harder than the paper work was trying to identify myself as a human being by typing in the vaguely sketched letters on the screen. I failed more than twenty times.

Other than that, the progress of the game itself is resounding. All we have to do is wait, and hope for the best.

The Reality

Hey people! Back at you with another round of entries.

This is a realization I have came to just recently. Aside from tirelessly making my projects and keeping in touch with the people who support it, I realized that success isn’t a certainty, however, it is a privilege.

Yes, some might say it is hard earned, but at times, regardless of how hard people try, they always fail. It is an unfortunate system which currently exist, however, it is how the world operates.

I have investigated several projects and their trends and exposures for the past week or two, and I noticed that some projects make three times more money than others, but their likes and shares, and media trends are significantly different.

Say, Project A has made 24,581 Dollars, while

Project B only made a measly 571 dollars.

Project A only has 96 likes on facebook, a small 5 views a day on its website, and, 42 followers on twitter. It has only been shared 5 times.

Project B, on the other hand, has 2371 followers, 231 views on its website, and, 13,831 likes on facebook.

This is a good depiction of what is going on currently at the market. It all boils down to one thing.

Innovation.

It prompts up the question of whether or not your product is worthy of being bought.

The average consumer would likely ask “Why should I buy your product when there are other products that are more capable than yours?”

This is a tough question. Guess what though, if you could answer it on the first day, you’ve already won 80% of the battle.

That’s it for today, and sorry for the long lecture.

Good day! Stay Fresh!

Slow and Steady

After not being able to sleep, and pondering upon how this little project would go, I realized that a lot of people go through what I went through a few hours back.

This sensation, it keeps you awake, and makes you wish that there was something you could do. However, with such a quiet hour ahead of me, all I can do is wait.

On the bright side, apparently I got some money on the first day. I may not be the most popular game developer on the planet, but at least I felt great seeing people willing to support my cause.

Progress

Yes, although a very small number of people, this not only depicts their appreciation for my game, however, it also shows that this little venture might just go somewhere.

The road is long, but I am willing to see how this turns out.

Come what may, but never lose hope. Persevere, and try your hardest.

More progress coming soon. Stay tuned people!

The Looming Light

It’s pretty interesting. Waking up at 2AM at a different country to launch this campaign at the right time in the U.S

I now realize that after three hours, no one has decided to fund the game. This is a normal reaction, and, this is a reaction that is to be expected in any venture.

There are several variables that go into this, however, It has come to my at attention that this is only Dependant on Luck and prayer.

Whatever it is, I am happy that I have completed my goal, and all I have to do is just pray that it will all turn out well.

Let’s hope for the best!

Artwork Stuff’s

The Artwork

Hello there people!

It seems a few of our artists got back to us and have decided to give me full bodied versions of the characters in higher definition. Also, we have added a new battle back to the game to give it more oompf (means force).

CASE79

As we can see, this is our new battle back for the forestry areas. It is still a work in progress, but this battle back has already been integrated into the demo (updated today at 12/16/2015) for you to see.

Also we fixed a few bugs here and there to make the game run smoother and have somewhat shrunk it by a little.

archer fullbody

So, this is our second protagonist Roland, who was just given to us in better definition. Our cool, cunning bow-boy is now ready for some fighting.

troy fullbody

Here is troy, although you did see parts of his full body on the images, this is a higher definition of his full body pictures. As serious as he is, this young man has been traumatized for the lives he’s claimed! Bizzare huh?

Here are also some sprites we have decided to show case you.

Spider Map0000

This is the demo boss, a soul infested spider from the ether planes. While talking this over with my artist, I told her specifically that I want something creepy and awesome. This is what I got, and, I am very pleased. But why a spider? Why not something more epic? Well, that is for you to find out in the demo yourselves!

Here are some generic villager sprites:

NPC 20000

There are several varieties of these, but this serves as a placeholder for the current demo as of now. The villagers will be walking around the village talking about some random aspect related to the story. Some of them give hints, which might leave you hanging.

Other than that, this post has come to an end. We hope you leave comments on this article, as well on the game! Support us, spread the word, and we sincerely hope you have a great day!

Sincerely

D.W
