- Tuned TypeMetal for full compatibility with macOS 14 Sonoma.
- Updated TypeMetal's app icon. The original icon is available via TypeMetal's new "Appearance" settings pane, if desired.
- Advanced the minimum required macOS version to 10.13. (Now and then we have to keep pace with the times, but after this change TypeMetal still runs on Macs as old as 2011!)
- Fixed backspacing through a WordPress post's entire content leaving the post empty and uneditable.
- Fixed HTML source view update lag when deleting the last remaining character in a run of text.
- The Attribute Editor now saves uncommitted edits in text fields, when you click outside it to dismiss it.

One of the best (HTML5) Writing Apps on the Store!
TypeMetal is quite a strong contender for writing apps such as Word Processors, Markdown and Rich Text apps in terms of capabilites, as it features a large arsenal of HTML elements to use freely in a WYSIWYG!! interface. This means that the user can write and not be bothered by formatting nuances; by which I mean, not having to manually press tabs and spaces, insert background colors, text spacing, etc. (anything one can think of with respect to formatting), to define particular styling for certain sections, etc. - all styling is managed automatically via CSS, while the user can quickly insert sections and paragraphs. This boosts users’ writing efficiency, while keeping the experience pleasant.
Markdown and LaTeX based writing apps do this already, but most of them keep the markup visible - making it hard to read (or those that don’t sacrifice performance using non-native UI technologies). Typemetal keeps just the rendered output of the HTML so that the user is never distracted by markup. Cool stuff in my opinion!
The app deserves a five star rating not only for the excellent functionality, but also the excellent support provided by the developer. I’ve requested support for bug fixes and features and quickly received reassuring responses. His blog posts and newsletters reveal exciting features planned for TypeMetal, which are really awesome - I will not spoil them here 😊

Not much more to say, but it is great!
Very impressive 1.0!
The biggest challenge with evaluating TypeMetal is understanding what it is and what it isn't. It's not a web development IDE and it doesn't try to be. It's also not a tool that tries to shield you from understanding HTML. Rather, it's a tool for *writing* and *editing* HTML content cleanly and precisely without forcing you to resort to hand-coding. While you can use TypeMetal to pop out generic HTML pages, the critical thing is you can load *any* page of HTML from a more elaborate project and edit its content directly. As such, this app is nearly unique—the closest thing I know of to TypeMetal is the long-neglected (and now functionally obsolete) Design view of Adobe Dreamweaver. TypeMetal is objectively superior to Dreamweaver’s Design view in every imaginable way, although TypeMetal (currently) lacks some of the project-level support that Dreamweaver provides (however buggily). So, this is an exciting new app that may prove a godsend to some folks (including some of my clients), but it's something of a professional niche app. I demur with another reviewer on its price: the target price for an app like this should be much much higher; I worry about the developer’s ability to realize this product’s potential at its current price point.
