WMF Converter Pro 4+

I had about 50 images to convert from an old presentation in order to refine them. Most of the images were .wmf but there were about 10 that were .emf. All of these images were very old. The app worked flawlessly except for 2 .emf images. I still needed those images, so I copied them out of an old powerpoint and then pasted them into Affinity Photo. I was surprised that when I pasted them, they came in as layers. I was able to work with them no problem in Affinity Photo. For what I needed this app worked and saved me a ton of time. However it seems that since I could still work with those two .emf files another way, that perhaps there is a glitch for layered .emf files outputting to flat PNGs.

I have not yet used all of the features of this program, but have converted my .wmf files to .pdf and .png. It works very well with my 2012 iMac with 8gb RAM. The speed of conversion is awesome.

The one problem I found is that in batch conversion the program will crash if the path is too long, so I needed to drag in folders with only one branch rather than those with a lot of sub folders and sub-sub folders. I believe this is due to a naming convention in OSX.

Also, I found that not loading more than about 1000 pics at a time increased stability.

Primarily I enjoy the drag and drop quick convert as I have quite a bit of clipart from over the years that I hadn't been able to use since the powerPC software quit being supported.

This appears to be a solid product. There was a small learning curve on correct use of output directories. It worked fine converting several thousand wmf files from within a complex directory structure. After a false beginning, I was able to keep the new files in the existing folders. I would regard this flexibility in where to store output to be a valuable feature. I did not observe any of the bugs mentioned by earlier reviewers
