WipeFS 4+

Using this app on my 2019 M1 Mac Mini to wipe an external HDD. It seems to work OK, but the labels on the icons are not readable. They are cut off by the table that lists the attached volumes. I had to pull up screen shots from the internet to figure out what the labels were supposed to be.

I needed to wipe a Macbook where the display was dead and I couldn't even hook it up to an external monitor. So I connected it as an external drive and used this app to wipe it. Was easy to use and worked perfectly. The only complaint is there's a bug where you can't see the labels under the icons, so wasn't sure what icons did what. I referenced the screen shots in the app store to know what I should be clicking, and that worked fine. Must be a recently introduced bug - fix that and the app is pretty perfect!

First of all this app isn't the same as the verision found on linux systems. The linux command (also called wipefs) erases filesystems, raid or partition-table signatures which is what I was looking for for an external drive. It's my fault for not reading the description well enough to know they are different.

Secondly there is no support for this app. There is a support link but all it does is link to a list of dev's products with how to use them. There's no place to ask questions.
