New in SILKYPIX Developer Studio 11.1.2.0 (Jan 27, 2022)

  • SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro11/11 is the latest edition of high-quality RAW development software from the SILKYPIX series, first released in 2004. This product includes the first of its kind improvements to the RAW development engine and incorporates a new demosaicing technology that enables high definition resolution expressions. With this, SILKYPIX has been reborn into higher image quality RAW development software than ever before. The high definition resolution feature, "Super resolution," is made possible with the demosaicing technology, and by compositing layers, brings about a high definition that can’t be brought by a single image. It also supports the iPhone photo format, Apple ProRAW, and makes image adjustments using the object information (semantic masks) possible. Super resolution and Semantic masks are only available for SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro11.
  • New Features for SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro11/11:
  • High definition resolution using the latest RAW developing engine:
  • The demosaicing technology for the RAW developing engine has been completely overhauled. With this, it gives a higher definition than the previous SILKYPIX products even in the most minute image details. The latest demosaicing is applied from when SILKYPIX opens the image and gives a high definition resolution experience like never before*. It’s also possible to switch back to the previous demosaicing as well.
  • "Super resolution" and "Multiple exposure (moving object)" composite modes added Professional edition only:
  • By implementing the unprecedented high-quality demosaicing technology, images with even higher resolution levels can be created. Two new features have been added within the composite mode- first the "Super resolution" which enables a high definition resolution that wasn’t able to be reached with a single image, and the "Multiple exposure (moving object)" which is a new multi-exposure composite that reduces the noise or slight misalignment that came from the composite mode.
  • Super resolution:
  • Normally, simply layering multiple images doesn’t produce a high definition image. In SILKYPIX’s "Super resolution," first the pixel count must be selected at a 1.5x or 2xs rate and amplified, then can make precise placement adjustments at the half-pixel level to create a high definition image. This is due to utilizing the feature point detection technology and the image coincidence detection apparatus (Patent No.4689758). With this, even if the single image doesn’t have defined outlines, by having multiple layers, it’s possible to produce a high definition image. There is a limit to the usable pixel count within the image. Please head to our website for details.
  • Multiple exposure (moving object):
  • In a standard multi exposure composite, when taking rapid shots of moving objects the composite results from those layers have some misalignment. By using the new "Multiple exposure (moving object)" feature to composite, it retains the object from the base image and eliminates the other moving elements from the composite results. It also reduces the amount of noise.
  • Supports the Semantic masks within Apple ProRAW Professional edition only:
  • It is now possible to adjust the Semantic masks within the DNG data from images captured by the iPhone’s Apple ProRAW. By analyzing the Semantic mask information from the Apple ProRAW image, it becomes possible to select the spot correction area. This makes it easy to select the spot correction area by simply selecting the item
  • Color conversion with the fine-detailed color gamut:
  • Up until now, the color conversion range had been wide and it was difficult to adjust only the intended color. However, by adding the "Fine color controller (Advanced)" feature, now it is possible to make precise adjustments in color hues and saturations levels for the selected color. It is also possible to change the selected color to something entirely different. It is now possible to make dramatic color changes that go beyond the original color hues, such as turning the blue sky into a sunset hue.
  • Brush feature to intuitively remove unwanted objects Professional edition only:
  • The "Retouch brush tool" makes it possible to remove unwanted objects by tracing said object with this tool. Trace the object that is to be removed and replace it with another specified area within the image. By tracing it with the brush, it’s now possible to remove objects intuitively and smoothly. Additionally, there are two functions with the "Retouch brush tool"; "Copy" to copy the original image as is, as well as "Retouch" to composite the surrounding color around the unwanted object. These can be used separately depending on the needs or objectives.
  • "Clarity" and "Sharpening" functions added to the Partial correction tool (Professional edition only):
  • "Clarity" and "Sharpening" functions have been added to the Partial correction tool. It’s now possible to clarify and sharpen specified areas instead of the entire image. For example, when softening or smoothing human skin or sharpening eyes or eyelashes, now it will only affect the specified area.
  • "White level" adjustment added to add translucency:
  • "White level" has been added as an option within Tone adjustments. Until now the bright parts of the image were adjustable using the Tone curve – with the "White level" the brightness now can be adjusted with a slider. The White level can adjust the maximum brightness value; brightening the dimmed highlights within an image, makes the image appear clearer. Combined with the "Black level" function, this allows for an even more detailed contrast adjustment.
  • "Auto area specification tool" Added to apply AWB to specific light sources (Professional edition only):
  • The Auto White Balance (AWB) normally averages the light sources throughout the entire image and makes adjustments. However, with the Auto area specification tool, it makes it possible to select only parts of an image and apply the AWB in only the selected areas. With this tool, it’s now possible to apply the AWB to only the selected areas even if there are multiple light sources within the image.
  • Import from media and sort (Professional edition only):
  • When a media source is connected to the computer, a settings dialog box will pop up regarding storage locations and file names. This is especially useful when using multiple cameras and wanting to centrally manage all the file names, or if wanting to set a personalized rule for file names. Additionally, the Import from media feature includes both sorting and renaming features, which makes it possible to sort folders based on dates, file information, etc, as well as converting multiple file names at once.
  • Thumbnail filtering feature
  • The feature, while retaining the traditional searches based on the five-star rating system or color marks, added new search functions based on the image information. These include: date, camera used, focal length, aperture value (Av), time value (Tv), ISO speed, and file extensions. If a keyword is assigned to the image, the images can be searched using the keyword as well – this makes it possible to search for the image with an original word.
  • FUJIFILM’s Film Simulation and Panasonic’s Photo Style application
  • The Film Simulation and Photo Style set in FUJIFILM and Panasonic cameras now display as a default. Limited to cameras that support Film Simulation and Photo Style.
